A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, but a westerner at heart, Mr. Shayo brings four decades of experience as an attorney to Norton & Brozina. He spent the first 10 years of his legal career as an associate and partner in a small firm in the Hudson River Valley in New York State, engaged in the civil practice of law. Thirty years ago, he followed his dreams and uprooted to Arizona, where he served as Chief Bar Counsel and General Counsel for the State Bar of Arizona. Most recently, he served as an Administrative Law Judge and later became Vice Chief Administrative Law Judge at the Industrial Commission of Arizona, during which time he administered Arizona’s Full and Final Settlement implementation at the Hearing Division.
Mr. Shayo is an avid photographer (FILM!) and likes to spend his free time wandering around the southwest looking for the perfect photo opportunities out in the middle of nowhere. He is also an Arizona Coyotes fan and was an Off-Ice Official for the National Hockey League when the Coyotes played their games in Downtown Phoenix. He is an Adjunct Faculty member at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where he teaches Business Law.
